A group for those who actively rebel against religious bullshit. Religions harm our society, poison our mind and threaten our mental health. This is an Anti-Religions-Group! No discrimination against a certain group of imbeciles, but all of themSee More
Ok, so I'm listening to Stars again. :) I'm just going down the list. Some of it is great! I love the woman's voice, so I really liked My Favorite Book. Some of it is just too busy, though. They've just got too much going on at once. It may all be in the same key, but it doesn't fit together so it just gets overwhelming.
If you like that tune then you must check out the Absence of God from their album More Adventurous:
The absence of God will bring you comfort, baby
And planning's for the poor so let's pretend that we're rich
And I'm not my body or how I choose to destroy it
Folk singers sing songs for the working, baby
We're just recreation for all those doctors and lawyers
There's no relief for the bleeding heart
Because they'll be losing bodies tonight
And Rob says you love, love, love, and then you die
I've watched him while sleeping and seen him crying with closed eyes
And you're not happy but you're funny and I'm tripping over my joy
But I just keep on getting up again
We could be daytime drunks if we wanted
We'd never get anything done that way, baby
And we'd still be ruled by our dueling perspectives
And I'm not my perspective
Or the lies I'll tell you every time
And Morgan says maybe love won't let you down
All of your failures are training grounds
And just as your back's turned you'll be surprised, she says
As your solitude subsides
And Mike, I'll teach you how to swim
If you turn the bad in me into good again
And I say there's trouble
When everything is fine
The need to destroy things
Creeps up on me every time
Just as love's silhouette appears
I close my eyes and disappear tonight
And something's got to change
Because our love's the slowest moving train
That's some beautiful poetry sung by a beautiful woman.
That's cool. I just wanted to welcome you and let you know about them. Thanks for commenting back.
That is good, and emotionally healthy, that you are not affraid of expressing emotion to other men. I do consider it to be a big problem for men, that they seem so stigmatized by male/male affection. Some gay men are even that way. You might possibly be interested in seeing my discussion I started in The Water Cooler: Has homophobia ruined straight male/male bonding?
Andrew, welcome to Atheist Nexus. I see you already found the GROUPS section.
I've started eight groups here, so please join any you think you might be interested in.
HERCULANEUM: A PLACE FOR MEN is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.
THE KNIFE & FORK is a group for anyone who has a strong interest or mild curiosity in food, cooking, eating, drinking, and nutrition.
HUMANE ATHEISTS is a group for people who are interested in trying to live a humane life by understanding the issues surrounding animal welfare.
CONSUMER ETHICS was created to help us understand how our purchasing power can help or harm the world around us.
