Is the ultimate philosophical outcome of Christianity anti-Semitism?

So this video of Lewis Black ranting like he does pretty much lays out the thesis I have herein: Christianity is, by default, anti-Semitic.  Foregoing the annoyance of arguing whether there ever…Continue

Newly Ordained as a Humanist Celebrant, What Would You As Atheists Want To See?

So I went and got myself ordained with a Humanist chaplaincy website, it's kind of like similar theistic groups where you get instantly ordained.  Here in RI our ministerial laws are very lax because…Continue

The Holy Books: Read 'Em and Rate 'Em! My List of Good Reads

Having been raised Catholic, of course my default Holy Book is the Bible, as it is for most of Western Civilization.  As such, I leave it off MY list because a) I think discussing it is redundant,…Continue

"Hi Hiram,   I'm not usually one to criticize someone's pet theory, but...   First of all, cherry-picking from John is a sure way to arrive at an anti-semitic conclusion, because John is by far the most anti-semitic of the gospels…"

Matt VDB replied to Andrew Stewart's discussion Is the ultimate philosophical outcome of Christianity anti-Semitism?
"  What faith doesn't? One of the main parts of modern Christianity (at least in most denominations) is that all humans are sinners and all humans need forgiveness. So why would they necessarily single out the Jews of all people?"

Is the ultimate philosophical outcome of Christianity anti-Semitism?

So this video of Lewis Black ranting like he does pretty much lays out the thesis I have herein: Christianity is, by default, anti-Semitic.  Foregoing the annoyance of arguing whether there ever was a real Jesus of Nazareth, let's just take a sort of cultural studies look at the basic trappings of the Christ story. Essentially, we have a faith which proclaims itself better and improved upon an older one.  The whole basis of the faith is that Jews were not able to live up to the role of…See More

"Congrats on being a Humanist Celebrant.  The UU church that I attend sometimes is predominately humanist (Non-theist) -- so that's all I know that would be satisfactory for some Atheists. Or perhaps the format of an Ethical Society. …"

Newly Ordained as a Humanist Celebrant, What Would You As Atheists Want To See?

So I went and got myself ordained with a Humanist chaplaincy website, it's kind of like similar theistic groups where you get instantly ordained.  Here in RI our ministerial laws are very lax because we made allowances for Quakers early on in the State's history.Anyway, I want to ask what sort of liturgical forms and methods you as fellow atheists have.  It seems to me the closest thing atheists have in terms of being able to experience a non-theistic service in a Church setting is at a…See More

Andrew Stewart replied to Howard S. Dunn's discussion The Bible as literature
