I tend not to communicate back and forth very long with friends by comment or message. Mostly I find participation in a group more satisfying. Although discussions peter out too, each one is like a thread of conversation in a room. The interaction (virtual conversation) moves from one discussion to another, over time, and there's continuity... especially among core members who post often and get to know each other. Think about it. In meatspace we don't spend all evening dwelling on one topic of converstation, we jump around.

Yes, Andrew, I see that petering out of conversations between friends a lot here. That's one reason I started Hang with Friends about 5 days ago. About 80% of members start out and stall quickly, everybody isolated more of less. A group for socializing has been sorely needed, with ongoing conversations and a feeling of community.

Greetings, Andrew! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Dec. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
