"Also, if you search on NPR's "This I Believe" you will hear an awesome essay by him about his belief (or lack thereof). I was so hoping that someone would mention Penn Jillette, truly one of the greats!"

god in our Constitution?

I sometimes listen to religious right radio shows (it's a guilty pleasure, plus I think it's a good idea to know what the other side is saying) and I heard something very strange the other day. On one of the shows, the host was asserting that god WAS in the US Constitution. Well, having read the document in question many times, I was very sure that god was not mentioned. The host then said that when the Founders put "in the Year of our Lord" in the date section, this was appealing to the…See More

Hey Alan,

I saw your message on the Alabama Atheists group. It is good to meet another Alabama Atheist. Just wanted to let you know about the Montgomery Area Freethought Association, if you did not already know. It is a great social group.

Hi
Welcome to Atheist Nexus with its 10,600+ good friends and discussion groups.
Among the groups, may I suggest you try the busy group “ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion.....” with its 160 commonsense topics whose discussions rebuff religious nonsense. You will be welcome.
