I tend to react the same way. I got my first one I was 19 and newly married. I remember showing our families a few days later, and you'd have thought I was some freak by the way they reacted! I just kept on getting new one throughout my life, regardless of what anyone else thought. I like them and it's my body.
When people make rude comments about me "ruining my body" or some such drivel, I tend to just laugh at them. How boring, to want to look like everybody else. Some people lack imagination . . . and manners!
At least I don't get told anymore, that "they'll stretch out & look ugly when I get older". I'm almost 52 and I'm still the same size I've always been:-)
Oh yeah, I like your tattoo quote! I have seven tattoos and I'm tired of people my age jumping in my shit about it. Don't you just love when someone gives you their "opinion", when you didn't ask for it in the first place and don't care? :-)
