Yes, I agree with you about music, but a lot of people DO us it to superimpose an image on themselves. But this, I think, leaves them closed off to other forms of expression. Sounds like you and I do share a music gene, as you clearly have a wide appreciation as well. You're about the thrid person I've seen mention Wumpscutt, who I have never heard of. I'll have to check them out.

Have you seen Manson's video, Guns, God and Government World Tour? If you haven't, you should. It was frickin' awsome. I like MM more than I like his music, and the DVD was really entertaining. Watched it like 4 times in a row.

I don't think music helps me cope with reality, I just find it enjoyable. How does it help you cope with reality?

I agree with you about the importance of having a good feeling, and by good I mean strong, whether the feeling is good, bad, sad, or angry. To be effective, it must be evocative.

So how is life in Stafford? Never heard of it, but it sounds hick.

And BTW, thanks for the compliment. Flattery will get you everywhere!

Thanks for writing back. I too, am a music whore. I am very greedy about music, and consume it at an astounding rate. The stuff on my page is only a sample of the types I like, but are all those posted here are thematically on the dark side. To like a variety of music, you must appreciate it for what it is, and for its role in time and place. For example, I like the Doors, but I also like the Carpenters, I like Goth & Industrial, but I also like some Dolly Parton. I like Ruth Etting (from the 1930s), Diamanda Galas, Julie London (from the 1960s), Patsy Cline, Electric Hellfire Club, Lord of Acid, Cowboy Junkies, Lustmord, the Bee Gees, the Rolling Stones, Billie Holiday, etc.

Many people listen to music to promote a self image. I can understand that. But I appreciate music for the manifestation for what it is or was in relationship to its environment -- time and place.

I will definitely check out Suicide Commando. I liked what I heard so far.

Oh, and welcome to AN. There are lots of groups you can join to find people with similar interests. There is a goth music group, though it is not very active. I'm trying to open a group for people with dark interests, but it has not been approved yet.

I really like the music you just uploaded. Who is the artist? Do you like goth/industrial/techo/exprimental?

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:28pm 2 Comments

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

War on Christmas in May

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
