I'm really into Celtic artwork and designs. I loved this one so much I got it tattooed on my arm.

Very awesome tattoo!
Comment by James Bradford on June 24, 2012 at 12:44pm Swastikas are an interesting symbol. It was originally a Hindu symbol with a positive meaning but thanks to the Nazis and other racist groups it will always have a negative connotation.
Comment by James Bradford on June 24, 2012 at 12:42pm Thanks to popular culture and negative stereotyping most people see pentagrams and think it's related to devil worshiping. They don't seem to realize this symbol was around long before the "devil" was ever invented. Not to mention that they don't seem to realize that a pentagram is a five pointed star without a circle. With the circle it's a pentacle which is a different meaning.
Comment by James Yount on June 24, 2012 at 12:30pm I thought as much. Most have a very limited understanding of the wide use of commonly used symbols throughout history. It's a shame, in some cases, how certain symbols have been locked into one meaning only. Example: swastika
Comment by James Bradford on June 24, 2012 at 12:24pm I've had to explain several times that it's a triquetra on top of a pentacle. Then I have to explain what each are and what the Celts believed were their positive meanings.
Comment by James Yount on June 24, 2012 at 12:13pm How often do people say it's a pentagram and a trinity symbol?
