Any questions? Self-explanatory and highlights the reason why America has fallen behind our European brethren in science and math...the "dumbing down" of American society as I term it..

Comment by Pat on October 3, 2011 at 7:46am Nothing personal, Loren, but I had absolutely NO clue who the female was, until you mentioned her name. And, while I now know her name, I still have no clue as to the significance, other than she's apparently some celebrity wanna be.
I dare say you could have replaced her photo with some NFL, NBA, or MLB persona, and the result would be the same. In Rome, it was bread and circuses. In the US, it is football and guacamole, or reality TV and Ben & Jerry's.
Comment by Rob van Senten on October 3, 2011 at 7:07am I don't like judging people on their (lack of) knowledge in general, so I'm not completely convinced by the "you're what's wrong with the world" remark but I do feel that I can relate somewhat to the frustration that people know so much about contemporary celebrity culture without knowing pretty much anything about our history, science, culture etc. all subjects that I value much higher.
Then again, I'm as fashionable as lederhosen so my world is far removed from the world of Snooky, Heidi, Kim and companions.
Comment by Loren Miller on October 3, 2011 at 6:06am Actually, I BARELY know who Kim Kardashian [sp?] is or what she's done. Her repeated appearance on the covers of magazines is the ONLY reason I know who she is at all.
I mentioned Carl to a quartet of Jehovah's Witnesses a year and a bit ago when they came to my door, and not one of THEM knew who HE was.

Comment by Nerdlass on October 3, 2011 at 4:07am I don't know who the second person is, but she bumped her head a bit too much, methinks.
