Over there they are very much into the virgin Mary, so as an appeal for road safety it might have some positive effect.

Yet another appeal to useless action by the home of ALL useless actions. How about pulling that statue off of your dashboard, powering off your cell phone, and putting 100% of your attention on the task at hand: DRIVING!

I always like the routine done by George Carlin about the plastic Jesus on the dashboard. If you ever noticed, Jesus is always facing the driver, and not looking out at the road or other drivers. "Hey Jesus, watch me make this left turn." CRASH!
