The Pledge says NOTHING about an "Ideal" but rather, most clearly, that Liberty & Justice IS WITH ALL.....& that ain't , 'tweren't nor 'twill be so, EVER!
I you want to add something like, "One nation in which certain citizens HOPE for liberty & justice for all," that would be okay BUT an IDEAL is like a GOD...sounds pretty, I TRULY wish it were a fact, but it is a LIE.

There's something to be said for keeping the ideal of "with liberty and justice for all" in our consciousness.
(And if we're pledging allegiance at all, let it be to the nation rather than a piece of cloth.)
