Phlox davidii , Purple Coneflower Echinacea purpurea (Asteraceae)

I planted one phlox plant 18 years ago and it self sows and now I have this lovely bed of white blossoms in late summer. Leave the plants standing through the winter, harvest the seeds in spring and just scatter them where you want them. They will give you a wonderful lift when so many things have gone dormant.
The same is true for the cone flower. It is a lovely plant and self-sows.
