Comment by sk8eycat on May 23, 2011 at 10:47am Their traditional job in bookstores and libraries isn't really to "make nice" with the customers; it's to protect the books from rodents. (Mice and rats love paper for some reason...nesting material, maybe.) It's cool if the cats are friendly, but they take their work as hunters very seriously, and they do tend to retain more feral qualities than cats who live with humans 24/7. The best situation is to have two cats; a hunter and a greeter...I've met both kinds.

The only things I love more than books are cats! They just go together. Every bookstore and library needs at least one cat.
