Salvation: the cross of St. John Hagee, animated

Animated GIF created from two photos of a neon cross which flashes "GIVE $$" and "FORGIVENESS". ("View Full Size" for the animation. Source photos uploaded by Richard Knight)

The plaque says:

Salvation
(The Cross of St. John Hagee)

This is a critical study of the state of modern religion, with
particular attention paid to the relationship between
salvation and donation.

I was on an atheist chatroom with someone from South America talking about the new pope. He said when the pope was a bishop he got caught selling indulgences.  I found not only did he sell them as bishop, he also bribed parents with indulgences if they would force their kids to listen to some papal radio show. Einstein showed time is relative. We are moving forward and religions are trying to drag their followers back to medieval times.

Too bad you couldn't pay for the indulgences in imaginary money!

Anyway, here's the animation, no click required:

Same thing as, and a repetition of, the RCC's sale of "indulgences" during the medieval period and later. Many was the cathedral which was built, in large part, by the sale of tickets to get out of purgatory, and get into heaven.

Perpetual everyday plenary indulgence on every occasion for the living and the dead. But Wait! There's More! Act now and you can get 2 dead relatives out of purgatory for the price of one. Operators are standing by!
