I thought that might be rhubarb.  Maybe I'll make a rhubarb pie today.  It's my day off.

Notice behind the iris is a rhubarb plant. You can see the large leaves, and a tiny bit of the seed stalk. I've looked for a better photo of this delightful plant, but alas, this is the only one I can find. I just have to get my camera repaired for this summer's crop.

It's very touching.  Also, shows what a rugged variety that is, or well suited for that location, to have flourished there for so long.

Yes, this was from my Aunt's garden in Idaho City and from what her son says, these blues are still  on that old property. She has not lived there for 50 years at least.

This reminds me of iris stands in cemeteries and old farmsteads.  A very peaceful scene.
