The rarity of real redheads

We account for less than 2% of the entire world population, Making us one of the smallest minorities on the planet.
Red hair is caused by a genetic mutation of Chromosome 16 and generally skips a generation, Causing parents of normal coloring to have a "ginger" baby. Like me :)

I thought gingers were redheads.  What's the difference?  Do they both have that light skin tone that I love?
