Yeah, how much charitable good work could the Roman Catholic Church (and its de facto political arm, the National Organization for Marriage) and the Mormon church have done instead with the millions they spent promoting and defending marriage bans like Prop. 8?

Some more dire consequences that will utterly fail to happen:

What will happen if gay marriage is legalized? [pie chart: 100%: Gay people will get married. All 0%: A third World War will break out / Various plagues--locusts, frogs, etc.--will erupt / Schools will begin teaching kids how to have gay sex / The terrorists will win]

Those charts miss some important actual consequences (with nonzero occurrence) of marriage equality, though. This next one might explain why so many Republicans are against it:

 

98%: Gay people get married / 0%: (various dire disasters) / 2%: Even more Republicans get caught in gay scandals
