Yes, it was fun! I had a team, but there was very little that I didn't have a direct hand in. In fact, I came up with the design, put the final product together, and changed the gear ratios 3 times myself. Fortunately, being an electrician for the past 8 years has given me a level of construction know-how that a lot of young engineering students are lacking. Unfortunately, true to Murphey's Law, the day of the race was overcast so we had to rely on batteries for the race, and our battery snap broke a minute before the race. We were able to jerry-rig it to the battery but this resulted in a massive reduction in speed.
