At cracked.com 6 Badass Movie Scenes With Horrifying Unseen Consequences gives a half dozen examples of Hollywood double think that audiences don't even notice. Dude, this kind of thinking rules real world decision makers too. Drones anyone? One reason I'm not a gamer is that video games are also saturated with violence that apparently has no bad consequences.
