Share 'Familiars???'

When the parents are followers of a particular religion,their offspring is also consider a follower of that religion even if he or she still cannot spell the word "religion". Is there any word to represent that kind of people? A friend told me that "Familiars" is the word (don't know where he got it). So is it true?
