Welcome to Atheist Nexus with its 8700 good friends and discussion groups.
Among the groups, try visiting perhaps the busy group “ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion.....” with its commonsense discussions.
One is "Proud to be Atheist" (74 posts) seeing that atheists and humanists hold the intellectual firm ground compared with the brainless superstitions of the god followers. Similarly, “Religion is aberrant, atheism is truth” (44 posts).

Jaume, please consider joining my new group HERCULANEUM: A PLACE FOR MEN. Herculaneum is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.

I have already started two discussions to get us going: How do we define manhood in the 21st century? and Rites of Passage: A Lost Ritual?.

This is a private group, and discussions can be viewed by members only. Membership is open to men only. Please check it out.

Is there a link missing from this comment you left?

The quintessential male virtues: might, action, competition. That's why the warrior will always be considered superior to the intellectual when it comes to manliness.

    Not convinced? Here's the evidence:

    Immanuel Kant, but Genghis Khan.

I get it now. Maybe I'm just dense and don't get obvious humor. :)

To take this thread off that discussion, where it probbly doesn't belong:

Do the French drink mare milk, too, since they eat horse? I know you guys eat goat cheese, but what about goat's milk?
  • A Former Member

Interesting. Of course, in the US we don't have horse meat, but goat cheese is easy to find, and it is getting easier to find goat-milk yogurt and fresh goat milk, too. Some restaurants (usually Mexican) carry goat meat dishes as well. I tried it, but didn't care for it. Of coures, that could have just been the dish and not the ingredient.

There is a polyamory group on A|N now. Saw some comments you left in the secular sexuality group, and thought you might be interested.

    Here's the dirty truth....
    1. It's Dana Delaney, and I'm a fan of hers

    2. It was when she was in the show China Beach and played a nurse
    3. I didn't have any nurse or doctor pics save for "House"

...and now you know the rest of the story.......lol

I have all of the Aubrey/Maturin books, both as ebooks and a collector's set of hard-bound copies.

The movie was a disappointment to me. It bore almost no resemblance to the books and was actually a blend of several books. In my opinion, the choice of actors was not good, either. But no one asked me who they should get and they probably chose ones that would sell tickets at the box office.

I reread this comment of yours:

I can't sit on my lap. How comes everyone else can? That's discrimination!

    and was reminded of something:

There once was a man who said, "Why
Can't I look in my ear with my eye?
If I put my mind to it,
I'm SURE I can do it!
You never can tell 'til you TRY!"
