Wow, I never really knew who was behind American Gay Atheists. I was a member of AGA for at least one year, at the time I lived in Washington DC, and subscribed to their newsletter.
I remember I once spotted something in the Washington Post that was offensive to Gay Atheists and I sent a letter to the AGA address with a copy of the article and the offending statement in the article marked in pink see-through tape. I remember AGA called up the offending guy and I think chewed him out over the phone over that offending comment, and likely the whole situation was mentioned in the AGA newsletter as well, don't remember much else about that incident.
Like you I was also a member of American Atheists at the time. I was a member of the latter for maybe 10 years.
The only thing I knew about AGA was that there seemed to be two men involved, and that they were friends with Madalyn, and that one of the founders died of AIDs and then what was left of AGA in San Francisco was given to American Atheists and that's when AGA folded.
So nice to learn a little bit more about AGA because you introduced yourself on Gay Atheists just now. When I first joined Atheist Nexus, I wondered if anybody from AGA, in addition to other groups like GALAH (which I was also a member of for one year, of their DC chapter), would ever show up here. Thanks for introducing yourself and mentioning your role with AGA.
Too bad AGA didn't seem to last that long, but I understand most of the energy in running AGA came from the other guy who died, and/or maybe the membership wasn't enough to keep AGA going at that time.

No problem Dom, I read the joke you shared "FREE KITTENS" and I cracked up. Thanks for accepting, Dale
