When Carl Sagan said "Evolution is a fact..." on "Cosmos" I jumped out of my chair and cheered.  I think that was the first time (since the fundamentalists started trying to rewrite science) that anyone dared make that statement on a widely-watched TV show.

I worked on the KCET lot when "Cosmos" was in production there, and I was SO effing proud of that series! (And that I actually touched some of the props!)

There's an american atheist rapper called greydon square and one of my favourite parts in his songs is when i hear a phrase he uses often "Peace to Carl Sagan". I've never had a chance to watch the show but I'll definitely look for it.
