Where Have I Danced With You Before

In the maelstrom of creation, as time began its

inexorable march,

When expansion separated from one to four, slowing and coalescing,

We danced.

When the first light gathered together, cooking heavy metal elements,

Scattering them in the cosmic winds of chaos, to gather upon virgin shores,

We danced.

From the first dawn upon new worlds, falling as a cooling rain upon parched lips,

As the march of evolution continued unabated, adding, subtracting, expanding,

We danced.

Thus we have danced across the eons,

Alone and together, in harmony and discord,

Embracing the truth, as one or in opposition,

That we are all stars.

And we dance.

Oh how wonderful Tony! I enjoyed reading that. I could picture the scene.

Comment by Tony Carroll on June 15, 2012 at 11:33pm

A grayish, overcast day, rain lightly falling, dripping off the eaves. Sitting in my overstuffed chair by the window, lights off. Shades wide open, gazing into the yard, the sounds of the insects muted, but frogs taking full throat to the weather, 'welcome, welcome,' they croak. In the background, Canon in D Major wafts hauntingly, longingly. A bittersweet smile, welcoming the contemplation of memories softly strolling, lovingly each taking a turn, asking to be remembered, then bowing, turning and retreating. Each shall come visiting again when the rain once more softly falls, a companion to accompany me along the road. To remind me that all my joy is colored by my melancholy, so I may enjoy the sweetness of life more fully.

Got inspired while listening to Pachelbel-Canon in D Major.

Thanks, Steph. Wrote this as lyrics to a song, but could never come up with a tune I liked, so I just reworked it into a kind of poem. Was always better with words anyway. Glad you liked it.

RUNNING OVER WIRES

Waves of  madness rolling thru my veins.

Burning down my heart driving me insane.

Pulsing hot waves of desire,

Playing with the primeval fire,

Then the tide turns cold extinguishing my pain.

You come to me, playing with my affections.

Sweeping thru my pain, a pale reflection.

Of the love that was lost and won,

From morning til the day is done,

The easiest thing we did, missing the connection.

The ascending path of dreams leading to you.

Blazing down tracks of fire, our fates renew.

The love that follows is blind,

Leading us thru the poisoned mind,

Of reasons left unsaid, between me and you.

Running over wires…

     Darling it’s you and me

Running over wires…

Living as if we are free

Running over wires…

     Whether you’re ready or not

Running over wires…

     Baby it's gonna get hot

Don’t feed your mind with negative thoughts. If you do, you will come to believe them.
