Welcome to It Gets Better

Bullying and teen suicide are nothing new, but in recent years we have become increasingly aware of the damage bullying does ― to both children and adults alike ― with what seems to be a sudden spike in teen suicides related to being bulled.

The death of a child, particularly at his or her own hands, is never acceptable. It is a blight on human society that schools do not do more to prevent this, that parents can raise their children to be mean and spiteful to others, and that bullied kids don't have a support system on which they can rely when they are faced with feelings of despair and isolation.

The content of this group will undoubtedly be difficult to deal with. It is painful to see children ostracized from their peers, and made to feel as if they don't matter or don't belong. Of course, bullying is not confined to schools, either. Many adults experience bullying at home or in the workplace as well. All these issues will be explored in this group.

Glad to join, DG.  I was bullied and teased a LOT as a kid for reasons I was never 100% conscious of back in those days.  All I knew was that I was different ... and back then, I wasn't wild about being different, nor did I have the tools to deal with it.

If I can help someone going through the same thing, maybe smooth the path for them even a little, I would feel privileged.

Nerdlass, he has a lot of videos. Do you remember which one that was?

I don't know if anyone here watches King Heathen on Youtube. I was at his latest blogtv sessions. He explained his disappearance from Youtube centering around the loss of his brother-in-law. The brother-in-law had been gay and could not handle the burden of how that affected his family life. He did not feel he could be accepted, that his life was worthy... ...His parents had said they would have accepted him, no matter what, but KH said that before his BIL took his own life, the parents did not give that impression at all.

His wife has closed everyone out from her life and now, KH and his wife have lost their marriage, as a result. To his credit, he's putting up a strong front... but you could tell how hurt and torn he is over this.

I want to see the parents of those bullied dead to make their own videos, reaching out to parents of all children. Children need to know their home is safe, especially when things outside are so very hard, so very scary. Young adults needthe support of their parents, too, quite often, as in the case of KH's BIL.

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…
