Welcome to It Gets Better

Bullying and teen suicide are nothing new, but in recent years we have become increasingly aware of the damage bullying does ― to both children and adults alike ― with what seems to be a sudden spike in teen suicides related to being bulled.

The death of a child, particularly at his or her own hands, is never acceptable. It is a blight on human society that schools do not do more to prevent this, that parents can raise their children to be mean and spiteful to others, and that bullied kids don't have a support system on which they can rely when they are faced with feelings of despair and isolation.

The content of this group will undoubtedly be difficult to deal with. It is painful to see children ostracized from their peers, and made to feel as if they don't matter or don't belong. Of course, bullying is not confined to schools, either. Many adults experience bullying at home or in the workplace as well. All these issues will be explored in this group.

Right Earther -- I get you!

I am sad, depressed, angry and arguementative, but i have a right to be.  The whole world hates me because I am an atheist and I refuse to live a lie.  That is why I am happy!

Oh Hi Earther! Thanks for following me here! So nice to have company. I haven't heard that one about atheists being sad - but I have heard the one about atheists being angry and argumentative. I've had that said to me before.

Have you ever been told "I thought atheists are sad all the time"?  ugh!

Steph, I didn't know about this group until I followed you here, so thanks.

Thanks so much for your insight and helpful replies Sentient Biped and Loren. Hope you are having a good day.

Living well truly is the best revenge.  They hate that.  Their little reptile brains don't want to be forgotten and ignored, they want to know that you still hurt.  The best thing is for them to find that they had no power over you (even if they did) and that you don't thing about them in the least (even if you do).  If I run into them again I might tell them they look uncomfortable, express concern, ask if they are still constipated, and suggest prunes or metamucil.

It also sounds very much like at least a couple of the people I had to deal with as a kid [about a bazillion years ago].  Back then I had no defense against them.  The playing field has changed a mite since then.

That sounds like the person I was dealing with Sentient Biped. So glad I'm not dealing with them anymore.
