Climate Change and blood-sucking eye worms

Climate Change raises the frequency of heavy rainfall events. If the sudden crash of quail in Texas in 2010 is a symptom of how deluges impact wild birds, we are in trouble.…Continue

Steph, have you noticed the white marks on the Blue Jay's wings look like jewels when seen through binoculars?

Mom was so mad with us for so long for teaching her birds 'bad bad things'! LOL We need more birdy pics, I need to try to get my girls for ya, I have 3 ravens who hang out on the deck with me pretty regularly, a hawk drops by occasionally and I have the pesky little starlings always stealing my dog food! The ravens do too but they don't make deposits all over the deck so I don't mind them as much. We stained the deck blue this year to match the roof and they've decided they like a little 'white' polkadot pattern on it!

Tammy that was a really funny story you shared about your birds. Made me laugh.

Thanks!

Yes, my Mom has been taking care of birds since she was little.

She took care of chickens on the ranch when she was growing up. My Grandfather grew up on a ranch/farm.

He used to tell us stories of waking up at the crack of dawn to go and milk cows and do the chores.

I would love to see more picture of your lovely Francine Tammy.

Very beautiful bird.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful day.

When Ms. Francine is not pissy because she's going through a molt, I will try to take some better pics. I still have to sneak up on her if she's out of the cage with that particular camera, something about it sets her off, it must be the whirring noise it makes because she wasn't like this with the old SLR...

Your mom's bird really looks healthy unlike some I have seen.  She must know a lot about birds and how to take good care of them.

Aww pretty blue budgie! We had one when I was growing up, his name was Greenie and he had the most sinister, little voice. I loved that silly bird! Then later we had Nanday Conures their names were Baby and Teach and someone who shall remain nameless watched porn around them late at night while the cage was covered, so both of them would make sex noises and repeat 'yes, yes, yes' in their sexy voices when we had people over and embarass my Mother to death, it was sooo funny!

What a beautiful bird you have Tammy! I'll have to post a picture of my mom's blue bird. It's a parakeet. I just have to find the picture.
I appreciate you posting that.
