Young Atheists

A group for young atheists, any ages from 0-20 welcome! People love to underestimate young people, especially minors who can't vote, but we are a powerful group...we are not alone.

Welcome young atheists! This group is geared towards students, be they in college, high school, middle school, or elementary school, all are welcome, including those who are still young but not in school.

We're a powerful group that is often ignored or treated as if we are worthless. Older folks love to tell us that we aren't responsible, that we aren't intelligent, that we aren't as important. WE ARE. We can help strengthen atheism and weaken the religious establishments.

This group however is geared not towards angry rebellion ;) but discussion between young atheists. We can reach out to the very young group (middle school/elementary) while strengthening ourselves.

I love my Sunday lie-ins, when I think about all the poor children in the world who have to wake up early and apologise for being human...

I'm in my 30s now, but I remember what it was like to be the only atheist I knew at the age of 8 on up. I think the key to ending religious tyranny in all its forms, and around the world, is to support young atheists and skeptics. Hope you don't mind 'older' supporters joining this group to keep up to date on what's going on.

I don't think it's hypocritical at all. You would be unable to ban any kind of theist from attending, though I doubt that they would, the same way that you can go to the Bible study without being Christian.

There is this bible study at my school and that really got me going because they say no religion no conflict so me and and about 14 non believers that I gathered are going to the principal and asking to start an atheist volunteer/youth group. I just need some input is this being hypocritical?
