Next time you get told that the Xtian God is a god of love, forgiveness etc. quote Luke, chapter 19 verse 27:
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay thembefore me.
That's the King James Authorized version. The more modern versions say the same thing, so it's not a mis-translation.

The story is a parable, and the king represents God (Jesus returning) punishing those who rebelled against him. It's in line with the overall hellfire message of the New Testament, and not really similar to the notion of a violent Jihad carried out by believers.
