Comment by Tony Carroll on October 12, 2012 at 11:03pm Beautiful fawn, Steph.
Was reading an article today about a rare oarfish that washed up on the shore in Cabo. So I went to read more about it, extremely deep water fish, 600 meters deep on average, when I ran into this fellow, another denizen of the deep;
This is a barrel eye fish, and yes, its head is transparent! The diversity of nature continually surprises me, in a good way, of course.
Also ran into this image of a school of parrot fish. Just pretty, with so many colors, thought I'd post for you guys;
Enjoy my friends, and have a good one.
Tony - what a great snail picture! You find the coolest stuff.
Comment by Tony Carroll on October 11, 2012 at 12:24am Bullia digitalis, aka the Plough snail, aka the surfing snail. Was watching a show on Animal Planet, when this fascinating creature came up. It seems it "surfs" onto shore. To reach higher on a beach in search of food, it raises its "foot" and catches a wave, and gets carried further inland than trying to crawl there. It surfs!

Thank you very much. So glad you all are here.
