It is my unremitting pleasure to announce that the widely itinerant Atheist Evangelist of wide and controversial renown, Bro. Sam Singleton will be a guest.

Please join us and circulate this information among yourselves, even if you cannot attend. The agenda on behalf of the pseudo-science of "scientific creationism" should not be allowed to infiltrate our public education institutions.

We rally on behalf of QUALITY SCIENCE EDUCATION IN WV on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Charleston from 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM

We are responding to the "I Am Not Ashamed Conference" occurring simultaneously at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium.

Information about the conference:
---------------------------------
Answers in Genesis Creation Museum of Petersburg, KY CEO, Ken Ham will be a featured headline speaker at the "I am Not Ashamed" conference open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium, starting at 9:00 AM. Events should continue on into mid afternoon.

http://www.answersingenesis.org/events/bio.aspx?Speaker_ID=2

Also planned to make presentations is Dr. David Menton
http://www.answersingenesis.org/events/bio.aspx?Speaker_ID=3
--------------------------------------

Plan 1:
We meet at Clendenin St. in Charleston on the public sidewalk on the side of the Civic Center across from the entrance to the Town Center Mall. There is no verbal sloganeering. We conduct ourselves as a dignified peaceful vigil. WE
WILL NOT OBSTRUCT ENTRANCES TO ANY FACILITY. WE WILL NOT OBSTRUCT EITHER VEHICULAR OR PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC. WE WILL RESTRICT OURSELVES TO PUBLIC SPACE ONLY.
Feel free to make your own signs, although some signs should be available. We are seeking sources for concise handout literature.

Plan 2: (our backup)
In the event that one or more of 2 things occur, we proceed with plan 2, which is we meet for a social counter-rally 3 blocks away at Capitol Roasters at Summers & Quarrier Sts. Bring your books on biology and science, and we will compare notes.
http://www.capitolroasters.com/
Plan 2 becomes active if
a) if by Wednesday Nov. 3, at midday, we do not have high confidence for good attendance.
b) moderate to heavy rain will drown out our planned outdoor event as agreed on in plan 1.

If you would like to join us at Clendenin St., please notify Sam
@ sam_stetson@yahoo.com, or message me from my avatar at Atheist Nexux

I guess we aint got none in the Eastern Panhandle, though? I would dearly love that. Just had to tell my little boy "no" to boy scouts AGAIN and it would be nice for something as all those churchy things are most def. out.

Greetings. I am very involved with the Morgantown Atheists, and live just across the border in PA from that city. My mother's family however is all from Mercer County (Bluefield/Princeton). Any members down that way? (PS: The bible belt is pulled REAL tight down there!)

I'm a WV atheist. Look, WV dogs, WV snow... but I am waaay far away from all of you. Out on the eastern panhandle. There has to be more of us. Hey, West Virginia, we left the confederacy, we need to leave theocracy!

Brittany, My name is Brent and I am a member of Morgantown Atheists. We host a lot of events in which you should have an interest. Our next meeting is this Sunday (the 7th at 5PM) at the Blue Moose, on the corner of Walnut and Spruce. Our group usually meets toward the back of the cafe, so come and introduce yourself to us. We'd love to meet you! Also, check out our website at: http://www.morgantownatheists.com/

Hi, I'm in Grafton, south of Morgantown. My fiance and I are both atheists (well, I'm more of an anti-theist, watched too many Hitchens videos...) We've looked all over the internet after seeing stuff about the billboard. We want to join all of the groups in Morgantown, we're there all the time. Do we just show up to events or is there a formal way of entering the clubs/groups? Thanks for making those organizations and thanks to whoever made this group. We need more atheists in this state.
