Brother Sam Singleton - Goddamn! Depending on exactly where this hypothetical center might be, even the wife might be up for a short road trip to share libation(s) with some of y'all.

Joe Longwell - I suppose I knew that. I've worked up in Martinsburg for awhile now (which is why we finally moved), and some of my co-workers are outspoken about their faith. But I also attributed that to other aspects of their lives, and didn't really consider how

Maybe some of us oughta get together for a friendly libation somewhere near the center of the state. OK, near what West Virginia has instead of a center. You know, West Virginia holds the geographic distinction of more closely resembling the Flying Spaghetti Monster than any other state. So there's that.

Jeffrey in my experiences yes WV is pretty religious.

Hello, everyone! Wife & I just moved to WV (Eastern Panhandle, Bunker Hill area) from Maryland. Gotta tell you, we're happy to find this group! Our very first full day here (Dec. 1), the gas man (Mountaineer Gas) invited us to church, and told me about how wonderful life is since he found Jesus.

Is WV really THAT religious?

How do we find other free-thinkers in person?  I am getting good at this on the web.  I really need reinforcement when Jewish high holidays (in Oct.) and then Xmas rolls around.  Sucks to have started in a mixed marriage and have extra baggage!

Add one more to southern West Virginia :)  I think they are all hiding :)

@Jennifer: I'm surprised that the Eastern Panhandle is so void of atheists, being that it is included in the metro area.

I'm finding that there is a shortage here is Central WV, too, though not as few as I had originally believed. I've met a guy who works with 4 atheist co-workers. If only I could work in such an atheist-friendly environment.

I feel like I am one of the very few in the Eastern Panhandle, so worry that having the "club" out here would be silly.  Any atheists on this side of the mountains??    Jen

The NAP movement is growing, we have close to 3500 members. Not all states are represented with a state chapter. West Virginia is one of them! If you would be interested in taking charge of that position, please email me here on atheist nexus or susibocks@yahoo.com
