Ballots can be dropped off until 8 pm tonight. In Vancouver it was easy - it's a drive-up, last night there was no line. Maybe tonight there will be - hard to say. Apathy seems to be significant this time around.

Oh good luck, Andrew! I'm in Wenatchee and just now getting involved in the PTA.

I figure if she wins I'll just go to every school board meeting and bring her a different book on evolution. Granted, she'll probably just burn them, but it's worth the effort.

Andrew,
Thanks for fighting the good fight in Spokane! It's a difficult battle, I hope that rightousness wins!

Anyone in Spokane should make sure they read about Laura Carder running for school board, she's absolutely crazy. I've been writing about her on my site (among other things) www.spokaneatheist.blogspot.com

Elections tomorrow, Tues Nov. 3rd. Get out and vote!

It's not Obama vs. Sarah Palin and that old guy, but the votes cast tomorrow affect many thousands of lives. In WA, Ballot measure 71: voting YES will CONTINUE the domestic partner law that was already passed in the legislature, voting NO would turn back domestic partnership in the state, to a prior, much more limited, status. The measure was put into place by Christian activists who are against domestic partnership.

In Wahington state, many of the ballots are mail-in. In my county, we can hand-carry the mail in ballot to one of the addresses in the ballot envelope, if they are not already mailed in. They need to be deposited by 8pm.

I have not mailed in my ballot so am heading to the drop-off tonight to make sure that my one vote is counter.

I live in Vancouver. Here, the decision for who to vote for in local elections is difficult to evaluate. I found most information on GOP and Right-to-life blogs, and basically took the exact opposite of their recommendations. The local ballot measures were cryptic and it was hard to find anything on the web - mostly I read them, thought about them a little, and voted "no" but really don't know if that's the right decision.

Anyone planning on going to see Richard Dawkins on 10/8?

You can post for free on craigslist for group meetings. Why pay meetup for something that most other websites offer free? This seems rather unintelligent... unless of course these are meetup shills and employees?

Post on craigslist, myspace, facebook, and hundreds of other websites that allow this for free.

Anyone on the east side of the state who is interested in meeting like minded people fact-to-face... Check out the MeetUp.com groups Spokane Secular Society and the Spokane Gadflies.
