I think this mission could work, and I'd be really thrilled to see it happen. On to Mars in a little over a decade? Hell yeah! I don't know if I'd like to go personally (not that I could, but if I could). I would miss being able to do so many things, e.g., walking around outside and breathing the air. On the other hand, we might not really have much of a planet left for people to live on in 50 years or so. Might want to get out of here while the gettin's good. Anybody think that they might actually like to be one of mankind's first colonizers of Mars?

If the Dutch don't establish a claim, some other country will for sure. LOL
I can see WWIII happening on Mars.
"That's our parcel of land!"
"No. It's ours!"
You think humans can/will do better than that?
Permalink Reply by Jedi Wanderer on June 6, 2012 at 11:57am Good point! I don't know how much time it would take for fighting to spread to Mars, but where there are humans... I've been imagining interplanetary war between Mars and Earth for some time now, but that of course doesn't happen anywhere in the near future. You have a good point. I kind of just have to shake my head in disbelief at the human species that it seems more than less likely that we would fight over Martian land.
Here's a suggestion. Perhaps every person alive now should get a plot of land on Mars. They could then sell it, or keep it as investment property, or rent it out to colonists, etc. Or something to that effect. How does this idea sound? <wincing in preparation of being told how stupid this is by someone>

Hello fellow atheists! I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims. I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.
I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists". I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"! .
No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes. 'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands. Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…
