Matt, that's cool and all, but I'd need more than a day's notice on something like that since I work during the day.

Wind Not Oil Rally in Virginia Beach!

https://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/423/p/salsa/event/common/public/?event_KEY=60606

We've seen the catastrophic consequences of offshore oil drilling. And we know that there is only six day’s worth of oil off Virginia’s coasts. Come out to Neptune's Park [MAP] off 31st Street this Friday, May 7th at 10:00am to tell Governor McDonnell that Virginians are NOT willing to sacrifice their coastline for six days of oil!

I fortunately missed them but apparently they'll be in Blacksburg this week. Apparently Jews are bad and VT's recent tragedies are god's punishment. I can't imagine being so hateful all the time.

Speaking of schools in VA, the Westboro Baptist loonies are coming to town and will be protesting at schools, Jewish centers/temples, and a few other places in Virginia Beach and Norfolk next week on Monday and Tuesday, 3/1 and 3/2.

I'll be an elementary school teacher in a few years, most likely it won't be in Virginia.
Aiden Comment by Aiden on February 23, 2010 at 7:51am
Primarily, we'll be losing a lot of teachers thanks to McDonnell. So class sizes are going to go up, which is only going to cause more stress for the remaining teachers, as larger classes are much more difficult to control, especially in high school.

If you thought Bob Mcdonnell wasn't bad enough, maybe check out State Delegate (Manassas) Bob Marshall's comments...I'm not sure falling off a bridge would be enough for this man: http://politicalwire.com/archives/2010/02/22/legislator_blames_disabled_children_on_abortion.html

To us Virginians who are also parents, may Bob Mcdonnell fall off a bridge : http://www.wavy.com/dpp/news/virginia/public-schools-face-%24731-million-cuts

Cause we aren't behind other countries enough in education, lets cut millions of dollars in the single most important factor that helps countries thrive and progress.

I love you guys but I have to leave this group. I have moved from Virginia and I have too many groups anyway. Maybe I'll join back again in the future. Virginians are very nice people.
