Hey all,
I'll move PETA to a discussion topic. That way it's more accessible and searchable on the Nexus.

Ah, I think I see. Thank you for clarification.

You're right; I've always heard that PETA was responsible for the red paint tossed on fur coats, but I have no proof of that myself.
I do believe that they support financially and enthusiastically organizations that do those things as well as plant bombs and set fires. Perhaps that's why PETA gets the blame for those actions.

I don't know why you say "alleged" free thinkers. Implying that being an atheist is synonymous with being a freethinker. And thus, being one should that make one a vegan?
I don't see the connection, personally. Can you help me see what you mean?

I don't know that I'm anti-PETA, but I'm definitely not pro PETA.
They lost a lot of my respect when they were caught taking animals from local shelters and killing I happen to be of the opinion that the best way to convert folks is by cooking great food and touting the health benefits, not spraying them with fake blood and destroying private property.

I've seen my fair share of anti-veg*n comments from atheists too. The anti-PETA ones don't bother me too much though. I'm pretty anti-PETA myself, albeit for different reasons than most omnivores.

Hi Angela, Good to see you here, and I'm happy to help anyway I can.

What cookbooks do you have? I think I'll ask the group, too.

So glad there is a group like this on here. My family and I made the
decision to go vegan as of Jan 1st. It has been great so far.
I have so many vegan cookbooks now and love trying out new
recipes and foods.
