That sign is so true. Both the actor and the character would only have to step outside their door to get a mob of drooling women around them. :D

O I did enjoy the drama of The X-files. But I never go back and re-watch them.

For me no comparison. ST is about hope, and a vision of the future, it's somewhat a goal set by Roddenberry. Yes it's entertaining, BSG was entertaining but I found all the characters pathetic by the end. At one point I was rooting for them all to be wiped out by a supernova or something.
ST had a message. Most sci-fi really doesn't. Star Wars had a quasi message as well, which was some what religious, but SW leans heavily into the fantasy genre, while ST generally tries to stay rooted in SCI-FI.
I put Roddenberry in the same category as Wells, Verne, Heinlein, Clark, etc....

Except for B5 I think S.T. is better than than other SciFi shows. B5 however, is right up there with S.T. though.

DVDs are the way to go if you can get the dough. It took us about 5 years, maybe 6, to collect the entire ST universe. And rarely a night goes by that a trek episode or ten doesn't get thrown in.
