It turns out that the North Carolina Trekkie who resigned in Klingon from his town council seat (thanks, Loren, for pointing us to that article) has far-right, theocratic politics: "Waddell says he needs to devote time to mounting a write-in campaign on the Constitution Party's platform against U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan."
The Constitution Party "asserts that the US is a Christian nation founded on the Bible and that US jurisprudence should be restored to what the party claims is its 'Biblical foundations'."
Hmm, just figuring this joint out...is there no way to reply to a specific comment?
Well, I must say, regarding the funny pic from Ruth Anthony-Gardner on August 31, 2013, of Picard saying "What the f*ck is a phone booth doing in outer space?", and to those of you thinking he meant a police box (a la Doctor Who).
I must say tsk tsk tsk...are you telling me there are no Bill and Tedheads on this site? They travelled in a phone booth, rememba?
So, be excellent to each other, AND PARTY ON, DUDES!
Trekkers in Office: Apparently, a town councilman recently resigned from office, tendering his resignation in Klingoni!
I wish there were a like button for the "Let it Snow" one. :)
On Dec 11 I'll be doing an Ask-Me-Anything session about my sf writing at http://reddit.com/r/sciencefiction, sort of like an online sf convention. Of course, you're all invited. Reddit memberships are free, so I hope people will participate.
Captain Picard's take on a classic secular winter holiday song:
The Wr(e)ath of Khan!!!
Those are all great! :D
