good afternoon, Dustin. some things:

- i don't exactly know what biomechatronics is, but i know i was trying to follow a similar path into biohacking through computer science and i got summarily DENIED as an undergraduate. you're probably right in that you're gonna need a regular CompSci BSc Hons and possibly a postgraduate MSc specialising in robotics before they'll let you work with bio shit.

- you might also need undergrad biology, but i hope not. like i said, i wanna do the same thing.

- you'll need to convince an Ethics Committee of the need for your experiments before you get postgrad approval. given that our field is so young and small, i don't think you'll have trouble there, but it'll be easier if you only intend to experiment on yourself and you know exactly what you're going to be doing beforehand (less bureacracy, less chance of denial.)

good luck, friend. i'm around any time you wanna chat about the less academic and more dubious side of biomechanics, since i seem to have made some progress in sensory extension.

basically the field of science that devotes their time developing devices that interact with our muscles, bones, and nervous system. though similar to the biohacking you do but it is done more for the aid of the disabled through prostheses, while my intentions are more towards prostheses that can sustain and react to the brain indefinably simply because well the body weakens over time where the brain can survive without help from the body even if it is for a limited time. my goal is to see human life prolonged, extended, or even immortalized through H+ before i move on to sensory extension or other means of H+. as for the ethics committee i dont think i will be ready for that for a while and also like i said i am just starting and have little to no knowledge to run with so for now i am more intent on learning the subject rather then looking to experiment just yet.

i would like to chat with you, and maybe you could possibly help me along and provide me with information that could be relevant. also could you explain to me your experiments that you did to your hand in detail and what applications they provided. also i dont understand what you meant by "PS. learn C"

i see. didn't know that was the name for advanced prosthetics, but i get where you're coming from.

hm. that's a lofty goal there; what's the first thing you'll work on, if you don't mind my asking? it's always good to narrow your intentions. hell, that's what got me into sensory work in the first place.

i'm at lepht at trioptimum dot com, if you wanted to talk properly; i'm also online at sapiensanonym.blogspot.com, which is where the majority of my experimental stuff is documented. happy to provide any information i can.

C is a programming language: difficult, elegant and fundamental, it's a mess in the hands of newbies and a glory to an experienced coder. learning C early on will give you a massive edge in robotics or biological programming, since every language used in those subfields is more or less C-like. besides, it's really fun.
