One thing that those who are both anarchist and transhumanist find out fairly quickly is that there aren't many such people. Not only are both philosophies on the fringe to start with, but a minority of transhumanists are anarchists, and an even smaller minority of anarchists are transhumanists. This seems completely counter-intuitive to those who think that the two philosophies not only blend together seamlessly, but in a sense require each other.
The purpose of this group is to bring together those who advocate a stateless society, in which everyone is free to transcend humanity--or not--as they wish. Think that the right to modify oneself is an extension of anarchist principles? Think that freedom from one's biology is analogous to freedom from political and economic tyrants? Think that transhuman technologies may allow a stateless society to function more smoothly? Think that voluntarism will be to transhuman society as statism has been to human society? Then this group is for you!
