Dont get me wrong...I'm all for the killing off of major characters...but just not the whole damn cast. It was like they just had to get rid of them all to make room for this new series...NOT cool. And I love the drama and sex and roller coaster ride...man it was so intense. TW rocks my world! I'm just not sure how this new cast will work for me. Does anyone know (sure I could google) anything about any of the new peeps?
It takes a brave writer to kill off major characters...I admire that, too. I just feel that they were like "got get rid of 'em for the new Starz show" ....meh. Sorta feel like I got raped. Not that I know how that feels.
This new series better blow me the hell away. The "original" TW like I said, rocked my world. I craved more of it....the intensity, the stories, the acting, the characters, all of it....I hope to keep that craving.

I've always liked writers who aren't afraid to kill off major characters. I liked it when the characters on Torchwood died. The more I liked the characters, the better I liked their deaths.

see how I mentioned him right after bagging on Whedon. :p

Jamie....yes, I thought that was soooo cute, too! :)

I LOVE Torchwood, but I'm not sure I can appreciate the new series....It's not like DW for me, where characters come and go....I mean, they KILLED off all the damn characters! sheesh. I miss Owen terribly....I was GUTTED when he died. I'm keeping excited feelings, but I'm just not sure....I just don't want it to get all Joss Whedon-y on me if ya get my drift.
I do hope we get to see James Marser return some way....I like Gwen, a lot and of course Capt. Jack ...but this new crew has me skeptical.

Yes, TW was created by the queen...didn't she ban the Doctor or something?? And that naked girl? :p

I don't think TW will have the same momentum as DW...I think this will be short-lived. :( :/ :p :)

Nice to find this group. You get pretty lonely being an American Dr. Who fan. Nobody ever knows what I'm talking about or seems to appreciate my "tardis landing" ringtone.

There was a lot of perception filtering going on in series 5, that's why I thought so even more. Of course, she could have the whole fob watch thing going on ;P And who knows what else she could do to prevent him noticing....of course she may not even be Time Lord...there are other races on Gallifrey, right?
Comment by Robert Grimm on July 14, 2010 at 9:41am
I used to think she was a Time Lord. Being able to read and write their language and pilot the Tardis are points in favor of that. I'm not so sure now. She would have to be doing something to The Doctor's perception for him to not notice. I've been watching a lot of old episodes lately. In one, it was mentioned that Time Lords can spot other Time Lords. Of course, The Master did something to prevent being seen while he was working on becoming PM, so it is possible.
