I completely disagree.

Hey Guys;
Have anyone of you been having career path related questions? because I have and after looking at this site

http://similarminds.com/jung/intp.html

...I added "slacker" as another option to my list which was comprised before only of "documentary watcher."

Any similar experiences, fellow INTPs atheist? I guess we are quite unique.

Cheers
Marco

Hey there. I think I'm already tired of my current career. Slacker would be nice.

Yes Chad, but until we live in a resource based economy like the one portrayed at thezeitgeistmovement.com; we're pretty much screwed... submitting ourselves to employment...

I'm wondering if took the Myers and Briggs test again if I'd still be an INTP. I did it so long ago. I wonder if those profile ever change over time.

they do change, not to a great extend though

Marco, I went back and read some descriptions of INTP's and, even though I'm very skeptical of personality tests, it was scary just how much I can still relate to them. The descriptions about not being able to connect to others, or at least the feeling of not being able to, is something that really hits home. I've had that for as long as I can remember and I don't think it's gotten much better. I can still remember grade school being a complete mystery to me not even understanding what exactly I was supposed to be doing. To this day the social aspect of anything can destroy the potential to enjoy it or get anything out of it.

I like how the similar minds website lists "assassin" as a career choice, as if I could just pick up a phone and get that as a job with someone. Does it require an sort of college degree?

That's funny! I just checked it out and there it is. I must admit that I've pondered a few times what it would be like to be an assassin. Maybe the C.I.A has a certification program.

I feel like I overthink everything I do. I'm often told that I say things without thinking of their consequences, but the truth is that I've thought and analyzed and broken down everthing I could possibly say to a person 50 times before it ever leaves my mouth. The one they hear is the one I believe is correct. I simply am incapable of planning their emotional response.

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…

Death of a family member

Posted by Larry Taylor on May 20, 2013 at 8:15pm 7 Comments

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! I suspect she did not believe, but a woman born in her time could not and did not state her actual beliefs. This is the opening salvo to all christians; FUCK YOU! I had so many people come and tell…

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Posted by Christy Stewart on May 20, 2013 at 2:17pm 6 Comments

This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

I work in a psychiatric hospital. The doctors who admit patients are general MDs. (Psychiatrists see patients after admission) Yesterday evening we received several calls from irate parents. A new doctor who was doing admissions yesterday actually…

anti-atheist rant from an Orthodox Mormon part 2

What do you think of this,

Nathan Young,

No Jason Torpy it is you that should be banned for promoting atheism, a belief that has no foundation in reality and zero proof behind it.  The letter was a mockery of your atheist beliefs.  I request to the board here that they remove Jason for his unverifiable beliefs in atheism for which he has no proof other than his arrogance.  The letter was a mockery of atheism.  Atheism is stupid and it should be mocked and it…
