This is a group to discuss the joy of being childless! I am amazed at the number of atheists I have met over the past few years that are childless by choice, here is a place to discuss stories and experiences!

Comment by TNT666 on January 11, 2011 at 1:15am FUCK ME! How did I miss this group!!!!
I BEGGED docs between ages 14 and 28 for sterilisation, they all said NO. Bloody patriarchal institution docs are! On contraceptives that whole time. Then between 28 and 30, got pregnant 3 times, still on pill and using comdoms and morning-after-pill. At 31 cussed a doctor out and accused Canada's doctors of being responsible for three ended lives. Doc agreed to sterilisation in following week. Additionally.... he he he
-Idiocracy: greatest comic truth movie of all times!
-Daycare: proof one should not have had kids
-Baby/family subsidies: make'em disappear in same way as church charity status should disappear.
-Circumcision?: pooey, any surgery done to male babies, if it were OK by me (circumcision isn't ok by me), would be vasectomy, NOT circumcision. Leave the pleasure function, remove the procreative function!!!
-and yes, 7 billion reasons
-Dating: much simplified by my sterilisation, removed all occurence of ambiguity and illusions. Made all dating completely honest... while reducing it to a mere trickle...

Comment by Jay A Small on December 19, 2010 at 1:21am Hayley, that's certainly good judgment to vow to being without an intimate companion over having one and launching into a family hood that's really not your own dream. If you indeed live up to the commitment of parenthood your life undergoes an absolute transformation. Instead of continuing your own personal advancement as a human being, having finally outgrown delusions personal superiority, you have to devote the next 20 years getting that other human being to that very same miserable state of mind. Now, some people just love that opportunity
Comment by Susan Stanko on December 18, 2010 at 11:24am I know one guy I met on the internet was "scared" of me because I didn't want kids.
Comment by Jay A Small on December 18, 2010 at 10:56am Hayley, seems like it would be easier to find men who don't want to sign upto parental responsibility than the other way around. The evolutionary fingerprints are all over the place, that the females have evolved to take (sexual) relationships more seriously because their opportunity for gene replication is limitted compared to males. In most species males are not as helpful raising families. So finding one who would rather play (along with you) in their free time rather than attend PTA meetings would seem a hopeful prospect. You don't find that to be the case, though?
