The World | Calypso Rose

Sixty-nine year old Calypso Rose is the queen of Calypso music. She was born in Tobago and her legacy looms large throughout the Caribbean. Earlier this year, anchor Marco Werman had the chance to meet her in her adopted home of Jamaica, New York.

Listen to the interview here. Scroll down about half way.

Aiden, that's cool that she is doing that, but like you, it is not to my taste either.

On the way to work this morning, I was listening to the Freethought Radio podcast from 11/28 and they were talking with this opera singer named Markella, who has recorded a new pop song called "The God Delusion". I'm not really a big fan of either opera or techno, but I thought some of you here might enjoy this.

I'm fairly tolerable at lyrics & singing (and rapping, if that's appropriate). Any ideas for what you'd like?

I have never tried to write Christmas songs, let alone secular ones. Am I smelling a challenge?

Has anybody else ever tried to write secular christmas songs? What about when you live in a country where Christmas is in summer? >.<;

Hello all.

Fox Lee has a good point. We all have computers, so even if we're distant, we could write some non-theist music together. I'm a bassist, largely influenced by brit-pop, and, in particular, Paul McCartney.

We need a place to post musical parts to share within this community.

@Kevin - that song by the swimmers is fantastic.
