Thanks Steph.  He need to go the way of the dinosaurs.  Better yet, he needs to crawl back into a test tube and burned.

Sorry to hear that Regina.

I wish I could go with you to Denver dezilla.  I have a schizoid uncle that has put out a warrant for my arrest because I refuse to go to church and he has told the court that I am a threat to myself and other people.

Houston-Atheists

Hi there fellow Heathens! I live South of Palestine in Houston County and I am VERY LONELY here! Can't find any creative, atheist, liberal people.  I have a grand total of one friend in Crockett (besides hubby--we met at a large Unitarian church) that I can discuss art, classical music, literature and stuff like that with, and he is a graduate of Rice University.  Even the people in the local book club seem to be mostly obsessed with Christianity and right-wing politics. I once tried to do a Meetup at my house and it was an utter failure. I can't get my friends to come see me from Houston--I guess everyone is working real hard.  Is there anyone here that lives in East Texas that would drive to Houston County for a gabfest at my house?  The freethinkers meetup in Tyler seems to be all libertarians. I cannot handle that.

Thanks for the link - I'm an FFRF member and would love to go!
I'll see if I can make plans.

Just found out Richard Dawkins is coming to Austin in October.

Here is some info sent out by SA FACT group: The Texas Freethought Convention is on and what an exciting event it promises to be.  Saturday, October 20, Richard Dawkins and others, Elizabeth Cornwell and Sean Faircloth, will address the crowd on the steps of the Capitol in Austin before we reconvene to a hotel to hear Darrel Ray, Richard Haynes, Matt Dillahunty and many others.

My grandfather used to eat those red peanut patties all the time Nerdlass. He was always seen eating them - and always made sure to buy them at the store.
How's everyone doing?

Hey, Tony. My grandmother lived in Emerald Bay, near Palestine. :D My family used to stop at the gas station up in Canton to get red peanut patties. Those were the best! :9

Good times. East Texas is gorgeous! It's like having the mountain forest without the mountains! ;)
