Cool stuff! I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of this new billboard on I35E and W. Please go to this story for a picture of it and the details.

Welcome to all from Lubbock and the High Plains. I've just found your group and am thrilled to have become a member. Looking forward to getting to know y'all a bit better. Will try to get a pic up for you ASAP.

Is anyone near or in Dickinson? It's lonely not knowing anyone who doesn't believe in fairy tales.

I'm surprised there's even a group for Atheists in Texas with all the "mega churches" here.

You see, one New Yorker CAN make a difference in little Lorena. I take it the movement to wet followed your arrival.

Lol thanks James, in Lorena here it was dry until recently.

Jesse, I advise you to STAY AWAY from East Texas, places like Jasper, Hemphill -- all small towns along the Louisiana border. Many are "dry" (no booze) and when you find a dry county in Texas, it means "hardshell" Baptists. I recall one town in that area that wouldn't sell me a beer. It had a church on every corner. Far more so than West Texas, it really is the WORST of the state.

Hi I live in Texas but am from New York. I am glad there are some atheists here. I had heard that Texas was the buckle of the bible belt so I knew I would have a hard time finding other atheist types. So far not one person I have met has admitted to being an atheist. I admit that I am a little fearful of peoples reaction when I tell them I am a stone cold atheist.
