I cannot believe there are other atheists in Texas...I thought I was the only fake Baptist.....glad I found this little oasis of sanity. I am a school librarian in TX and an atheist. Praise!

Lab Kat and Codyr, I'm from the Odessa/Midland area originally. I'm not there anymore, but I do know some people who might like this site and maybe you all can find a way to communicate.

As for me, I'm way up in the Panhandle, north of Amarillo.

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.
