Comment by Sam Elliott on July 16, 2012 at 1:12pm I just booked my hotel and flight the Labor Day weekend in Colorado. That looks like a really great one, there are TONS of speakers coming in for that.
I may go to Austin as well. I did ask Paul to see if he needed help organizing TFC in Austin but it's so late now I don't know if it's going to be able to happen either if something isn't put out there right now. Perhaps it will get back in gear for next year.
Are you planning on heading to Denver?
Comment by debzilla on July 15, 2012 at 5:54am That said, I did reserve hotel for American Atheists' Convention, 2013; March 28-31, Austin, TX.
Anyone planning to go to Colorado for Labor Day weekend?

Comment by debzilla on July 15, 2012 at 5:08am Hi Steph; the problem with the FT convention is that it is only a few months away without a date or a line up - makes it very difficult for folks to plan for it.
Comment by Citizen Roe on June 24, 2012 at 7:57am Hello all... Anyone in the North of Austin area want to get together for lunch or happy hour? Getting together somewhere centrally located to Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville or NE/NW Austin. Most folks I know live in South or Central Austin and that's where most gatherings are held. I don't know about you but I'd like to drive less than 25+ miles to hang out with cool folks... I know you are out there, so let's do this! Message me or post on my wall. Also post on my FB page www.facebook.com/citizenroe. Thanks!
Comment by debzilla on June 11, 2012 at 6:12pm Hi Sam! Glad you recognized me in all my tyrannosaurus-like glory! I'll be at the SA Atheists' bookclub 1 July.
Comment by debzilla on June 11, 2012 at 6:08pm Hi Robin, I agree with Sam - C/S separation a great topic for a paper. You can check out http://www.au.org/issues/foundations-church-state-separation. Another topic may be religion in public schools.
I'm sure you can find many articles on both topics.
Comment by Sam Elliott on June 11, 2012 at 4:23pm How about Separation of Church and State and why that is important even though most religions believe it will lead to a better society what are the pitfalls? A good example might be area that have Theocracies and how that turned out, but also focusing on what the founding fathers actually said and did for the country. I heard a great podcast from Reasonable Doubts "RD Extra: Debunking D'Souza". They had more references and quotes to the founding fathers and could provide some great material or information that you can then use to lookup for references. Personally, I try not to shut about the subject ever. You don't have to mention any religion or lack thereof you simply need to highlight the problems caused by allowing it's infusion into government.
Comment by Robin M. on June 11, 2012 at 3:44pm Hello everyone, I guess you could say I have been lurking for a while. Checking the site out off and on. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about everything. Am I atheist or Agnostic or something else all together? I don't really know yet. The reason I am posting today is I am currently in a english composition class and need a topic for a short research paper. The teacher seems to like "controversial" topics so I was thinking maybe something to do with atheism or the like. Since I know little to nothing other than my own agrevation at people who claim to be "good christians" I thought maybe someone in here could help me come up with a topic. The topic has to have a "who, what, when, where, and why" so nothing vague. I also need to come up with 5 articles/books to cite so nothing too narrow I guess. Anyways sorry if this isn't the right place for this or if I have irritated anyone but Thanks to everyone who even read this. e-mail me if you like @ Zoey116@aol.com
