Well, I'm not swiss(yet, and, even if I do immigrate, I've read that it takes like twelve years or so to be officialy called a swiss!); but, I'm thinking about immigrating.

My problems are not necessarily religious; i'd categorize them as gangster problems. In checking out Switzerland, I started wondering; i mean, the swiss just tried to ban Arab religious temple making(by the atheists is now my understanding!) which prompted the Libyans(big threat, i know!) to call for a holy war against the swiss!

There's a big democratic effort to keep swiss pure from the recent influx and abuse from some russians I read.

I'm not sure if I should immigrate; should I?

It's nice to know there are other likeminded people in this country

Oui! But I'll continue in English too. Fabrice, you have a good point about that. I think there are many Swiss atheists. But being discreet being such a paradigmatically Swiss thing to do, no wonder we do as well...
In case any of you are interested, I have a blog (in French) which sometimes posts atheist content...It's here: http://forumethix-ch.blogspot.com/

Hi there, bonjour tout le monde, tchüüss, ciao !

What a country, I have to choose a language and that will be english to avoid any jealousy.

Yes there are swiss atheists but we stay discret I think, our country is very proud of being so tolerant with everything but our roots are deep in christianity, alas. It is a sad thing that the atheist bus campaign has been forbidden in Geneva and Lausanne, but what do you expect from a country were having an opinion different from the majority is a sin.

But there is hope my friends, change won't come from here but we'll follow if others stand, as usual....
