After Hurricanes Jeanne,and Francis, I bult a structure in a shrub covered corner of the back yard due to the roof partially caving in. In building a structure,it needs to blend in to the surrounding environment so that predatory people do not notice it as quickly.I also ate ''wild'' food such as inmature cattail seed heads,dollar weed, citrus, and fried crickets,and fish.Water was obtained from rain, and ponds,and I added Hydrogen peroxide to the pond water,then boild it to drink. I also boiled the rain water. If pond, or rain water are not available, you can dig a hole about three feet in diameter,a couple of feet deep,place a pot in the bottom,place four or more sticks around the perameter then place heavy gage plastic on top,tie down,then place a stone,or other weight in the center over the area containing the pot. This doesn't produce a lot of water,but if you need a glass full to move a bit further down the road this is better than none.Hot days with sun produce more water than cooler days.
