I just caught the thread. I would love to get together for a meetup & casual hangout. Unfortunately, work and home life are extremely hectic. My wife and I work opposite schedules so we can avoid paying for childcare for our twins (and keeping them out of daycare to avoid all of the nasty communal infections that get past around). And on top of that we both work graveyards, so we don't keep daywalkers schedules. If I ever get any free time I be sure to post my availability.

Michael, yes, I mostly agree. I enjoy discussing religion and atheism, they're interesting subjects. Just don't want someone to be one-track minded about it. I also like to shoot the breeze about science, history, movies, sports, art, etc.

I'm not trying to meet people because they're atheists, I'm just trying to meet people to make some new friends. The atheism just provides common ground and experiences. If anyone wants to meetup for the purpose of strategizing to advance aggressive programs to promote atheism and eradicate religion, then eh, I'm very lukewarm. But I'll still buy a round...
